We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Student Success Coach & Campus Counselor to join the Mitchell Technical College team.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting students as they navigate their college journey. This position combines academic and career coaching and mental health counseling to holistically support student development. The coach will also teach Student Success courses to incoming students, helping them build a strong foundation for their college experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide academic and career coaching and personal counseling to students.
- Teach the Student Success course to first-year students.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of study for students.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student retention and engagement.
- Offer support and outreach to students, occasionally outside of traditional office hours.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Take initiative in identifying student needs and proposing innovative solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related area required; master’s degree (college counseling/mental health) preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Willingness to engage with students outside of normal business hours as needed.
- Teaching or facilitation experience preferred.
