"Before the Fire" Movie Premiere

Mitchell native Charlie Buhler made “Before the Fire” about a TV actress who flees Los Angeles to her rural hometown to escape a pandemic.  But a dangerous person from her past threatens both her and her family.  It will show Monday through Thursday, November 6-9. The movie was conceived and filmed in the Mitchell area before the COVID pandemic became a real thing.  The film premiered at the Luxury 5 in August of 2020 just as South Dakota was coming out of COVID.  Buhler brought professional actors and crew from Los Angeles along with using local people to round out the cast.  Several scenes were shot at Buckshots Roadhouse  in Letcher.
