Leadership Mitchell Class of 2026 to Unveil Downtown Traffic Box Art Project
Mitchell, S.D., May 29, 2026 – The Leadership Mitchell Class of 2026 will celebrate the completion of its class project with a ribbon cutting and public unveiling on Thursday, June 11, at 3:00 p.m. at the corner of 7th Avenue and Main Street in downtown Mitchell.
The class selected a community beautification project that transforms a downtown traffic signal box with a custom vinyl wrap featuring a historic Mitchell and Corn Palace theme. The artwork highlights the community's heritage while adding visual interest to one of Mitchell's most visible intersections.
Leadership Mitchell participants worked collaboratively to identify a project that would leave a lasting impact on the community while celebrating the city's unique history and identity. The completed traffic box wrap serves as both a functional piece of infrastructure and a public art installation that reflects Mitchell's pride and character.
Community members, local leaders, project partners, and supporters are invited to attend the ribbon cutting and join in recognizing the efforts of the Leadership Mitchell Class of 2026.
