Support Group Facilitator

Title:  Support Group Facilitator
Reports to:  Shelter Supervisor
Hours: 2-5 hours per week- Group is held weekly in the Safe Place Conference Room

 
 
Qualifications: AA/BS Degree in human services or related field and/or equivalent experience.
Basic knowledge, understanding and experience working with victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault preferred. Good listener, self-motivated, team player.  Ability to respond effectively to crises. Oral and written communications skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with clients in a group setting providing trauma informed care.
  • Facilitate themed sessions utilizing control logs, materials, and exercises.
  • Maintain safety and security pre-cations at all times.
  • Update Safehouse Shelter Supervisor of any safety concerns or issues with clients daily.
  • Document and maintain participant attendance.
  • Work closely with the shelter staff to communicate needs and to ensure seamless continuity of services.
  • Attend trainings/meetings as scheduled.
