Maintenance Mechanic I

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One- year experience in the maintenance mechanical field is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience/ skills in the following: welding, plumbing, or mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance, lubrication and plant utilities
  • Must have basic math and good communication skills (written and oral)
  • Must have ability to become fork truck certified.
  • Must be Team oriented and have the ability to comprehend detailed written instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair on site mechanical equipment/ devices.
  • Required to dismantle, adjust, and assemble equipment according to layout plans or operating/repair manuals.
  • Responsible for installing mechanical systems. Must use test and diagnostic equipment to perform checks on devices, to ensure peak operating performance. Fabricate parts in support of emergency repairs or cost reduction programs.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintain daily records as required. Maintain safe and clean working environment. Adhere to maintenance schedules, manufacturing policies, and safety procedures and regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Complexity:
    Works on assignments semi routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from typical practice is required.
Financial impact:
    Inefficient handling of equipment could result in delaying delivery and loss of product.
