Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated K-12 Curriculum Director to join the Mitchell School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of the K-12 curriculum across all subject areas, ensuring alignment with state standards and district goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive K-12 curriculum that aligns with state standards and district goals
- Lead the development of curriculum maps, pacing guides, and instructional materials across all subject areas
- Provide professional development to teachers to ensure effective implementation of the curriculum
- Monitor student achievement data and provide recommendations for instructional improvement
- Collaborate with district leaders, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and effective curriculum
- Stay current with educational research and trends to continually improve the curriculum
- Manage and supervise areas of instructional staff
- Prepare and present reports to the district leadership and school board regarding curriculum development and implementation
- Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations and vendors to ensure the availability of quality instructional materials
- The ability to research and write proposals to secure funding from various sources, including government agencies, foundations, and corporations
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in education or a related field
- K-12 education experience
- Strong knowledge of state standards and curriculum frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and motivate a team
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Experience with project management and budgeting
- Knowledge of educational technology and digital resources
