"The Pomp Room: A Rock and Roll Bar Story" Movie Premiere

Austin Kaus, a Wessington Springs native and former reporter at the Daily Republic, will present his film “The Pomp Room: A Rock and Roll Bar Story” Monday through Wednesday, October 16-18.  He produced the 100 minute documentary for South Dakota Public Television and has shown it at several film festivals and theatres throughout South Dakota.   The Pomp Room was a popular Sioux Falls nightclub in the 1980’s and 90’s. Besides many local bands playing there, several national artists including Aerosmith, partied and played gigs there following concerts at the Arena.  Fans from the three- state area made this “dive bar” the venue for rock and roll.
