Sponsored by SMUCD, the Cultural Arts Jam Session is a community event that will take place at Hitchcock Park in Mitchell on Saturday, May 8 from Noon to 8 p.m. You and your family will enjoy amazing artists from a variety of cultural backgrounds. This event will be hosted by the amazing Jeff Diamond, a well known emcee personality from Minnesota. Our live performances will take place under the band shelter stage there with the adjacent pavilion serving free vegetarian catered food and drinks. We have booked additional spacing at the gazebo next to the pavillion, which is surrounded by a garden, to encourage families to venture out and enjoy our event at a safe distance. Altogether the space is more than enough to accommodate social distancing for 200 ppl or more.
At the Cultural Arts Jam Festival, we want to bring cultures together, with melodies that bring us back to those traditional times of unity and love. There has never been a more needed time than now to promote love and unity as we all have been joined together by a unified struggle to cope with today's trials and tribulations. Let us all come together in celebration of our community here in Mitchell, embracing each other's cultural differences and acknowledging by our similarities. Above all, this event is inspired to give devotional service to the one who has provided us with this beautiful home we call Earth, to live upon... The Creator, Father in Heaven.
There will be many live performances and speakers. Be sure to bring your own instrument for our jam session hours.
