Moving Mitchell Forward

At 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 9 at Bread and Vine Bistro on Mitchell's Main Street, the Mitchell Republic will be hosting a second Moving Mitchell Forward event. The first event, held in February at Palace City Brewing, had more than 150 attendees and covered community momentum from multiple leaders. This upcoming event will focus on Mitchell's future in tourism and retail business with guest speakers from the South Dakota Department of Tourism, South Dakota Retailers Association and Mitchell Area Chamber of Commerce. Stay tuned for more information, but let's think about where Mitchell's Main Street will be in 10 years? What will tourism at the Corn Palace look like in Mitchell in a decade? And how do small businesses succeed here? Drinks will be served and charcuterie from Farm Life Creamery will be available.
