Since 2001, Mitchell Habitat has built or repaired more than 25 homes in Davison and Hanson counties in cooperation with volunteers and businesses and in partnership with future homeowners. The organization will soon conclude construction on its ninth new home, located in Mitchell, and is seeking existing homeowner applicants for exterior home repair projects. New homeowner families complete 200-400 hours of “sweat equity” working on their homes and the homes of others. When the home is completed, they purchase their homes with an affordable mortgage.
