DESCRIPTION:The Ron and Sheilah Gates Department of Music at Dakota Wesleyan University will present LyricWood in concert on Sunday\, Mar. 20\, at 4 p.m. in the Sherman Center.  Admission is free.  The event will also be livestreamed on www.dwu.edu/live.\n\n \n\nThis concert is entitled "Unfinished Business\, Valedictions and a New Beginning."  Pieces will include "Lacrymosa" by Mozart\; "In Paradisum (from Requiem in D minor)" by Faure\, "Symphony No. 8 in B minor 'Unfinished'" by Franz Schubert\; "Elegy for Strings Op. 58" by Edward Elgar\; "Oblivion" by Astor Piazzolla\; and an original work by alumnus Kurt Schwarzenbart entitiled "Fairbanks: Stars\, Lullaby\, Aurora."\n\n \n\nBoth the LyricWood Cadets\, under the direction of Esther Meador\, and the LyricWood Orchestra conducted by Dr. Bethany Amundson and directed by Elizabeth Soladay will perform.\n\n \n\nThe next musical event scheduled is the annual Spring Concert on Sunday\, Apr. 24\, at 4 p.m. in the Sherman Center. \n\n \n\n\n\nAbout DWU\n\nDWU is a private\, liberal arts university associated with the Dakotas Conference of the United Methodist Church\, that is rooted in four values: lifelong learning\, leadership development\, faith exploration and genuine service to others.
