15 things to do in Mitchell on National Leave the Office Early Day!

15 things to do in Mitchell on National Leave the Office Early Day!

While we all love our jobs, there is nothing more exhilarating than starting the weekend off just a bit earlier than normal! In other words, get your desk cleared and your out of office ready for "National Leave Work Early" day on June 1, 2018!

This day was invented by Laura Stack, a specialist in employee productivity. Stack noted that Americans work about 49 hours a week, and a grand total of about 350 more hours a year than most Europeans.

On this day, if you're an employee, upon completion of all the necessary day’s work and the needed approval, it is suggested that you leave work early to enjoy the rest of the day.  If you own a business, let your employees know they are free to go as soon as they finish their tasks for the day. (You might be surprised at how much less time it can take to get the job done!)

In honor of Leave Work Early Day, The CVB has compiled an inspirational list of things to do during your time away from the office!

1. Get outdoors!

Lake Mitchell just north of the city has all kinds of outdoor recreation opportunities such as hiking, biking, fishing, boating, and camping. You’ll find 8 miles of off-road hiking and biking trails in the Kiwanis Woodlot Park along the lake’s shore.
