Santel Communications Cooperative is seeking a motivated Helpdesk Technician to provide technical support for our residential and business customers. This role serves as a primary point of contact for troubleshooting internet, networking, and device-related issues while delivering the friendly, knowledgeable service our customers expect.

The ideal candidate enjoys problem solving, working with technology, and helping people get the most from their internet and network services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers by diagnosing and resolving internet, networking, and device issues
  • Troubleshoot problems remotely or by phone and guide customers through solutions
  • Document customer interactions and maintain accurate records in the ticketing system
  • Manage service requests through resolution and escalate complex issues when necessary
  • Identify recurring technical issues and recommend improvements or preventative solutions
  • Prepare and configure service-related equipment when needed
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and efficient problem resolution
  • Identify opportunities to recommend additional products or services that benefit the customer

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and common networking equipment such as routers and firewalls
  • Familiarity with networking concepts such as LAN, WAN, WLAN, DNS, and DHCP
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information to customers
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple service requests efficiently

Education & Experience

An Associate degree in Telecommunications, Computer Networking, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.

This position reports to Santel Headquarters in Woonsocket, SD  Monday - Friday 8am-5pm 

Starting wage (DOE): $27.61–$29.63/hour
