Approach Breast Cancer Prevention – From All Angles Avera is hosting a special event for women in the Mitchell area. At “Approach Breast Cancer Prevention – From All Angles,” scheduled for Monday, Oct. 24 at 5 p.m., experts will discuss a multidimensional approach to breast cancer prevention. Topics will include nutrition, exercise, smoking cessation, mammography, radiation options, and the varieties of breast cancer. Physicians Stephen Dick, MD; Kathy Naegele DO, and Kelly Smith, MD will be featured speakers. The event will be held in the Community Room at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Attendees will be able to enter to win a door prize, as well as participate in on-site scheduling of their yearly mammogram. Light refreshments, featuring cancer-fighting foods, have been made possible through generous donations to the Avera Queen of Peace Foundation.
